I am working in a Nationalized Bank and posted in Kolkata. While attending office during the initial lockdown period I got sick with low fever on 11th April 2020. Local doctors of my area refused to extend any consultancy neither at their clinic/residence nor over phone and advised me to visit any hospital. I took over-the-counter medicines hoping it will help but in 7-8 days it got worse with high fever, breathing problems, loose motion, abdominal pain, severe weakness etc.. As I stay here alone and due to lockdown none from my family & friends could visit me, each day became more of a nightmare for me. Then I visited some of the major Pvt. Hospitals in Kolkata with the hope of getting the required treatment for suspected Covid, but to my utter dismay, they refused to get me admitted or even extend consultancy of any physician and advised me to visit any of the two hospitals designated by the state govt. for Covid. To top up the worries of mine, my family & friends (far away) and my colleagues, the Covid Hospital neither tested me for Covid nor admitted me. In desperation, after searching for available online/tele-consultancy for my treatment I got contacts of Dr. Rajat Mohanty (Hyderabad) from one of my friends on 22nd Apr and tried to reach him. He responded, even though he was busy with his Covid duties, and extended his much needed consultancy. With his advised medications I could recover fully in just a week’s time. It was no less than a miracle for me, as I had almost lost hope of recovering. His focused treatment ingrained with the highest professional standards & ethics, which a patient in distress, like me, can very well feel, gave me a new lease of life recovering from the dreaded Covid 19 apart from giving a sigh of relief to my much worried family & friends. I would wish all should get the opportunity to get treated under Doctors like him. I would pray before lord Jagannath to bless him in all facets of his life and support him in his endeavor to use his vast experience (both in India & Abroad) as an established medical practitioner to serve the mankind.👍❤
